Founders of Luka Agency

Origin Story
"How can we use our skills to do more good?"

Kevin asked Damien this in 2017, and it became the question that launched Luka Agency.

They'd met four years earlier at Ragged Edge in London — instant BFFs, learning their craft on global luxury brands, and bonding over a mutual silly streak, Boiler Room sets and a daily hunt for the best lunch in Covent Garden. It was their work-hard, play-hard era: late nights at the office, early mornings at the club.

A few years on, they were on opposite sides of the world, comparing notes on burnout. Between them, they'd poured late nights into work for fossil fuels, gambling, sugary drinks, alcohol and big pharma — high-profile commercial briefs, but not where they wanted to direct their creative energy. They wanted something different.

What if they brought the best of big agencies — creative firepower, strategic thinking, crafted design, beautiful storytelling, cultural smarts — to social entrepreneurs, changemakers, inventors and activists? Not just avoiding harm, but backing the people they wanted to see win.

That was the plan: champion the change they wanted to see in the world.

Journey & Legacy
After seven years, Kevin and Damien decided to close the special chapter that was Luka Agency.

There's a lot to say about the journey, but the biggest takeaway is simple: they finally knew what it felt like to fully believe in a company's mission, working alongside people they genuinely wanted to win.

That meant a wide and unlikely mix of projects: reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottles, campaigning for gender equality, preventing youth homelessness in London, empowering workers with digital skills, reinventing LiDAR for self-driving vehicles, launching the world's first sex toy for people with limited mobility, building hubs for innovation and startup communities, and staging a deep tech festival showcasing Australia's most visionary science.

None of it happened alone. Luka was shaped by the founders and organisations who trusted them to amplify their stories, the creatives and freelancers who contributed their skills and energy, and the advocates who offered guidance along the way.

Looking back, it's the fulfilment of what they set out to do when Kevin first asked that question: to help people they believed in, do work that mattered, and build something they were proud of.
